A History of Incognito

1979: Incognito Eyewear was founded in Chicago as an affordable fashion eyewear company. The brand began with Vintage Dead Stock styles that were sold out of Cream magazine.

1980: Demand for Incognito Eyewear continued to increase, leading the owners to expand their space and business.

1982: Incognito’s store front opened in downtown Royal Oak, MI (the founder's home town).  A rock n’ roll inspired clothing store, specializing in band tee’s, leather jackets, funky footwear, & accessories. The eyewear business operated out of the store’s basement.

 

 

1983: Incognito Eyewear is sold all over the country from independent boutiques to major department stores.

1990’s-2000’s: Incognito’s store front became a destination shop for all things edgy and unique.

2014: Incognito closed their store front in downtown Royal Oak in order to focus on their roots of the company. The eyewear division currently is operating  in Bloomfield Hills.
